Reds target Giovinco ‘happy’ in Toronto

Toronto FC striker Sebastion Giovinco has insisted that he is happy playing in MLS, despite talkSPORT reporting that Liverpool have renewed their interest in the Italian.

The 28-year-old, who had been on Juventus’ books for nearly two decades, left Turin last summer and was a huge coup for Toronto.

It has been a worthwhile investment for the Canadian club, as Giovinco has rewarded them with 22 goals in 31 appearances.

TalkSPORT claim that the Reds and Tottenham are keen on the Italy international who says he is happy where he is.

“I’m happy where I am. I only just changed club, so let me enjoy this adventure first,” Giovinco told Rai Sport.

Liverpool already have four strikers for new manager Jurgen Klopp to work with – Christian Benteke, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings and Divock Origi.

The Reds have also been linked with Robert Lewandowski, who played under Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, and Andre Ayew, who the German has admired for some time.

Klopp takes charge of his first game as the Reds’ boss on Saturday lunchtime against Spurs.
