Moment in Time: Liverpool celebrate Robbie Fowler’s birthday with memorable goal

Today marks a special day in the calendar for one certain former Liverpool striker, with it being Robbie Fowler’s 46th birthday.

The striker made his debut for the Reds all the way back in 1993 as a fresh-faced 18-year-old and went on to enjoy a memorable career for the club.

Liverpool’s official Twitter account tweeted last night with a trip down memory lane, highlighting Fowler’s goal against Aston Villa ahead of the club’s clash with the Villans tomorrow afternoon…

The goal was one of many for Fowler in a Liverpool shirt, and highlights just the exquisite talent he was for so many seasons on Merseyside.

Having retired in 2015, Fowler is currently the manager of SC East Bengal in the Indian Super League, having started his career in management shortly after he retired from the game.

Not only did Fowler get a lovely reminder of his turn and finish against Villa, the club’s Twitter account also wished him a Happy Birthday…

Fowler is easily one of the great strikers in the history of the club and it was a shame his talent didn’t last longer, with the later stages of his career plagued by injury.

When a player is given the nickname ‘God’ by it’s fan base, then they are almost instantly cemented in the history of the club, and Fowler is just that – so Happy Birthday legend!
