BBC Sport are reporting that ex-Liverpool and England striker Robbie Fowler is looking for a managerial job.
Dave Robertson was sacked by Peterborough United on Sunday, and so has left an open job at the League One side.
The BBC report that 40-year-old Fowler is interested in the role and will throw his name into the hat for consideration.
They also claim that former Norwich City defender Ian Culverhouse is another man who is keen on the open position.
Grant McCann will take over as caretaker manager for the time being, however, Chairman Darragh MacAnthony has revealed that he has a four-man shortlist as to who he would like to take over as manager, although he hasn’t revealed anyone on the list.
Fowler’s only other coaching experience at first-team level has been with current Championship side Milton Keynes Dons.
Fowler played at the highest level in England throughout his career but it appears that he is looking to start further down as he aims to launch a career as a manager following his retirement from playing.
