In an interview on Liverpool’s website, Shaqiri has expressed his happiness about the start to his Liverpool career, and insisted there is “more to come”.
The Swiss international has forged his way into Jurgen Klopp’s side with a series of impressive displays, yielding a goal and four assists. The 27 year old says he is “very happy” at Liverpool.
The process is going very well – I think you can see that also on the pitch. I’m very happy to be here and I’m settling in very well, but I think it’s going to be much, much better the longer I settle in
Shaqiri also stated the impact his manager has had since his arrival from Stoke.
The coach has helped me a lot to improve and that’s the most important thing… I’m learning a lot under Jurgen and I’m very happy
Despite not making his first start until the latter part of September, it is patience and speaking with Klopp that helped Shaqiri stay focused.
I think you need patience always in your life, so [you need it] in football too. I knew my time would come and I spoke a lot with the coach, with Jurgen, so it was important for me to have good conversations
Having missed the Champions League trip to Red Star Belgrade over political issues, it is expected that Shaqiri will start against Fulham and be the catalyst to help the Reds bounce back to winning ways.
