Premier League strugglers track Sinclair

With Jerome Sinclair’s contract set to expire with Liverpool this summer, a report by the Mirror suggests that Aston Villa are attempting to sign the teenage striker.

With Villa preparing for life in the Championship, they are seeking to rebuild their roster with cheap youthful prospects such as Sinclair.

Watford back in January were reported by the Mirror to have made a £3 million bid for Sinclair and are still monitoring the teenager’s situation at Anfield.

The 19-year-old English forward has made two appearances this season, scoring once against Exeter City in Liverpool’s FA Cup draw with the Grecians.

Sinclair signed with Liverpool back in 2012 after spending time with West Bromwich Albion’s youth academy.

The Reds decided to add Sinclair to their own system and in 2012, Brendan Rodgers called Sinclair up to the first team in the League Cup against his old side. The teenager came off the bench in the 81st minute for Samed Yesil as Liverpool won the match 2-1.

Last season, Sinclair was loaned out to Wigan Athletic with fellow teammate Sheyi Ojo. However, the teenager only made one appearance for the Championship side.

On January 8, 2016, Sinclair was called upon by Jurgen Klopp for their FA Cup match against Exeter where he scored his first senior goal for the club.

Following his appearance, Sinclair confirmed that he would leave Liverpool at the end of his contract with an eye for Spain.
