Martin Skrtel has seemingly laid into Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on Instagram, calling the German a ‘d*ckhead’ as he nears his exit from Anfield.
The Slovakian defender’s move to Turkish side Fenerbahce is expected to be completed within the next few days, with the 31-year-old departing Merseyside after eight years of service for the Reds.
However, there seems to be bad blood between Skrtel and Klopp, with the centre-back having fallen behind in the pecking order since the former Dortmund manager took charge of the Reds in October last year.
Even with Mamadou Sakho unavailable to partner Dejan Lovren in the heart of defence, Klopp has prefered 35-year-old Kolo Toure to partner the Croatian, only granting Skrtel four starts since the start of 2016 and this seems to be the source of the discontent.
And Skrtel has sly had a dig on Klopp on Instagram through a friend’s picture:
The last hashtag on the friend’s picture basically means ‘Klopp is a d*ckhead’, to which Skrtel replies: “Last hashtag is TOP!” (with a load of smiley faces to punctuate his point).
The conversation goes on, with the friend saying: “Hope Jurgen won’t see it,” to which Skrtel responds: “Hope he does!”
It seems clear that Skrtel is angry that he has fallen down the pecking order under Klopp and is burning his bridges with the Reds as he prepares to exit Anfield this summer.
