Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster has been called up to England’s U21 squad for their Euro U21 qualifier against Turkey and Kosovo in September.
The call-up is the first time Brewster has been named in the national team’s U21 squad, having previously made appearances at other youth levels for England.
He will be eager to shine in order to force a way into Liverpool’s side, as he still searches for his first team debut.
With many cup competitions to juggle this season, Jurgen Klopp may be looking towards Brewster’s England performances to see how he could fare for the Reds.
The 19-year-old has already had major success in an England shirt, winning the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup.
Brewster led the line for his country, scoring eight goals and winning the Golden Boot award in the process.
With the news of the striker’s inclusion in the U21 squad, Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight for Brewster.
U21’s SIUUUUUUUU let him play some games in PL off the bench & all the cup games so he could get into the senior team

Brewster’s call-up to the U21 squad can only be a good thing for his development.
With first team minutes hard to come by, further impressing at youth level looks like the logical step forward.
Given the striker’s record in an England shirt in youth teams, it will be interesting to see if he can continue that form.
The sky is the limit of him, as long as he fully recovers from a long-term injury layoff.
