According to a report in The Mirror, Spurs have now joined Liverpool in the race for the highly rated Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
It has been suggested that Spurs sent scouts over to Portugal on the weekend to watch the midfielder in action, who scored a dramatic 80th-minute winner in a 4-3 victory over Belenenses.
However, Reds boss Klopp seems keen on bringing the talented midfielder to Merseyside in the Summer transfer window, who has an impressive 14 goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season.
Due to his excellent performances in the middle of the park this season, his stock has dramatically increased since arriving from Sampdoria for £7.3m last summer.
If Liverpool wish to prize away Sporting’s star man, it is going to take a hefty fee, with the 23-year-old’s enormous release clause of £87m.
But with both clubs destined for Champions League football again next season, Spurs and Liverpool will be eager to bolster their squad options as much as possible in the summer.
