Thiago the latest Liverpool player to send message to injured Van Dijk

Thiago is the latest player to send his best wishes to Virgil van Dijk, following a potentially season-ending injury for the Liverpool star.

Van Dijk has suffered an ACL injury that is set to rule him out of action for many months, following an awful tackle by Jordan Pickford on Saturday.

The incident occurred in the early stages of Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park, on a day full of injustices for the Reds.

Van Dijk’s injury was just the start, as Thiago was also on the receiving end of a shocking tackle by Richarlison, earning the Everton man a red card. The Spaniard looks to have avoided serious injury, but will miss Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Ajax.

Jordan Henderson also had a last-gasp winner ruled out because Sadio Mane was adjudged to have been in an offside position, putting the icing on the cake on an infuriating afternoon for the Reds.

Numerous Liverpool players have been messaging Van Dijk on social media, wishing him the best in his recovery, and Thiago has become the latest to show his love for his teammate.

The midfielder took to Twitter to simply write, “get well soon, bro!”, before adding another post that said “it’s all about teamwork”, perhaps suggesting that Liverpool’s players will now do their very best to keep winning for Van Dijk.

It sums up the team spirit that exists at Anfield these days.
