Tottenham join Liverpool in race to sign Kostas Tsimikas

About ten months ago, Liverpool and Tottenham were battling to become the Champions of Europe in Madrid, and it looks like the two clubs are set to battle again.

Unlike in the Champions League final, there isn’t a trophy on the line for this battle, but instead, it’s a player who could be the prize for the winner of this particular duel.

According to a report from the print version of the Greek outlet Sdna, the two Premier League clubs are interested in signing Olympiacos left-back Kostas Tsimikas.

The report states that the Reds are the favourites to bring in the €25m-rated full-back in order to give Jurgen Klopp a suitable back-up to Andy Robertson.

Liverpool have often used James Milner as a deputy to Robertson but that’s hardly an ideal solution.

It would make sense for the Reds to be looking for a natural backup for the Scottish star and Tsimikas could be that man.

The defender looked good against Arsenal in the Europa League and if he can perform like that in a red shirt, then he’d be a very useful addition to Liverpool’s squad.
