Trabzonspor youngster Abdulkadir Omur open to Liverpool move

Rumoured Liverpool target Abdulkadir Omur has expressed his willingness to move to England, but only if it is in his current club Trabzonspor’s “best interests.”

Turkey-based newspaper Aksam reported earlier this week that Jurgen Klopp was interested in bringing the £27million-rated ‘wonderkid’ to Anfield and that story has now been circulating around the British press.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder confirmed Liverpool’s interest in his services during a press conference on Sunday:

Liverpool are a great club, one of the greatest in the world.

These offers are something Trabzonspor need to discuss. If the club gives the go-ahead talks can be held. The clubs interests take precedence. I’ll do whatever is in the clubs best interests.

It has been said that the Reds view Omur as a long-term replacement for the imminently-departing Adam Lallana, after the 30-year-old’s consistent injury problems have seen him limited to just two Premier League starts this season.

The Trabzonspor starlet is widely considered as the most promising talent in Turkey today and has two goals and four assists in 17 appearances so far in 2018-19.

His contract runs until 2022 though, so the club won’t feel pressure to sell unless the player pushes for a move. There’s definitely interest from the Premier League though, Trabzonspor have confirmed that.
