Wales Under-21 goalkeeper Danny Ward has spoken of his ambitions to become the Liverpool first choice shot-stopper in the long-term.
Ward is thoroughly impressing for Aberdeen in what has become a surprise title bid for the Scottish side, where he is spending the season on loan.
The 22-year-old recognises that coming back to Anfield and attempting to overtake Simon Mignolet for the senior goalkeeper spot will prove a difficult task, but, as quoted by the Daily Mail, has set his ambitions high for the future.

It is definitely an ambition of mine to be Liverpool’s first-choice. I have a self-belief where I think I can play at the highest level. Ideally that’s at Liverpool, that would be fantastic.
They gave me a new long-term contract before I came up. I took it to mean they think I have got a chance. Long term, I would love to be their number one.
I met the new manager after the last international break for an introduction and to see what he did in training, get a feeling for his way of working. It was brilliant to get my face in there. I was there for two days, two sessions, then back up at Aberdeen for that weekend.
The manager seems to have been a breath of fresh air. When I went down, you sensed he had brought a new lease of life, you can also see that with how the lads have been playing.
Ward has yet to make a single senior appearance for the Reds, having joined in 2012 from Wrexham, before spending a disappointing loan period at Morecambe, before his current, more impressive spell in Scotland with Aberdeen.
The Dons ‘keeper admitted he is enjoying his loan in Scotland, claiming it is making him into a better goalkeeper, one worthy of featuring for a Premier League giant in the near future.

Scotland has been very enjoyable. Getting regular games has been massive. I might not be called on for 80 minutes and then have an important save to make. It is similar to being a big club in England, like Liverpool. It can be only good for the future.
Liverpool face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday evening in their last fixture of 2015.
