It made grim viewing for neutrals and Liverpool and Manchester United fans alike. Injuries and stoppages hampered a huge, season-defining match.
The home side entered the game with their fair share of injury problems. Nemanja Matić and Anthony Martial were not included in the matchday squad while Jesse Lingard was only fit enough for the bench.
By half-time, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Lingard, who had already come off the bench, were all taken off injured.
Liverpool also suffered from an injury as Roberto Firmino was taken off for Daniel Sturridge.
This was a real opportunity for Jürgen Klopp’s men to make a statement and take advantage of a weakened United side but, in the end, the points were shared as Liverpool went back to the top, one point clear of Manchester City.
In this rather disappointing performance, who do you think was Liverpool’s best player?
Simply select which of the players shown you thought had the better game and go ‘winner-stays-on’ style until the end.
