Harry Wilson once again proved his critics wrong this Sunday, as he put in a great performance against Liverpool’s Premier League title rivals Manchester City.
The display was topped off by an absolute stunner of a free-kick in the 45th minute of the Cherries’ 3-1 defeat at Dean Court.
Not many would believe that Wilson has been at Liverpool for over five years now, but he only began to gain attention during his 2017/18 loan spell with Championship club Hull City, where the then 20 year-old Welshman scored seven goals in 13 games, along with three assists.

Once Wilson returned from his sixth-month spell with the Tigers, many questioned Wilson’s lack of experience, due to only competing in one lacklustre season at Crewe Alexander, prior to his impressive stint at Hull.
Jurgen Klopp then opted to give Wilson more experience before pushing him into Liverpool’s first team, loaning him to Frank Lampard’s Derby County last season.

It was at Derby where Wilson really started to impress the Liverpool fans with a number of fantastic individual performances, helping Derby reach the play-off final.
Wilson notched a total of 16 goals – an impressive haul for a player who was converted from a left winger to a right-sided player halfway through the season, and a player who mainly operated as a centre forward for Hull.
Wilson also managed to bag seven assists in the Championship, along with a goal and an assist in the EFL Cup against Premier League giants Manchester United and a decent Brighton side.

Despite another impressive spell in the Championship, Wilson’s critics claimed he was inconsistent, playing second fiddle to the impressive Mason Mount.
Klopp, on the other hand, was willing to give Wilson a chance in pre-season.
The 22-year-old may have scored during the tour of the United States, but fans were a little disappointed with his consistency.
He was also outshone by talents such as Bobby Duncan and Rhian Brewster, who caught the eye during the summer.
Klopp arguably wasn’t too impressed either, after he attempted to sell Wilson publicly after asking clubs for around £20 million for the Welsh youngster.
Brighton and Southampton were interested, but it was rumoured that a member of the transfer committee advised Klopp to find Wilson a temporary club.

In the end, Wilson moved to Bournemouth on loan in August, with fans anxiously waiting to see if he could hack it in the Premier League.
The forward has got off to a flying start for the Cherries, netting in both appearances to date, and looks to be answering all of the questions and uncertainties about his future at Liverpool.
Wilson found the net with a good strike on his debut against Aston Villa in a 2-0 victory, before hitting a wonderful strike against Manchester City on Sunday, after being brought on as a first-half substitute at Dean Court.
If Wilson carries on this form it may only be a matter of time until Klopp considers retaining his services in the long-term, although he must show consistency in his performances moving forward.
