Just the one match this week during the international break. The Liverpool u18s were in action on Saturday against Wolverhampton Wanderers in their third playoff match at the Kirkby Academy.
Neil Critchley fielded a very young team that could have almost been passed off as an u16s team.
Liverpool took the lead when Yan Dhanda showed superb composure to find Trent Alexander-Arnold who slotted in.
But Wolves replied fairly quickly when a cross found their forward inside the box, he then side footed it first time through the legs of Liverpool keeper Shamal George to make it 1-1.
Liverpool came closest to finding the winner when Alexander-Arnold slammed a shot against the crossbar in the last minute. In the end, both sides had to settle for a point.
The u18s are in action again on the 11th April against Brighton & Hove Albion, 11:00 kick off. The u21s are back in action on Tuesday 7th April with a game against Fulham, kick off 15:00 (live on LFC TV)
In other news, a number of Liverpool youngsters were given the chance to rub shoulders with some of the game’s greats in Sunday’s all-star charity match.
Jerome Sinclair, who is currently on loan at Wigan, played the first 45 minutes alongside Thierry Henry and Ryan Babel up front and impressed by winning the first penalty for his side.
Joao Teixeira, on loan at Brighton, also played a part. Joe Maguire, Lawrence Vigouroux and Cameron Brannagan were the other academy youngsters to be given the opportunity to play.
