Aston Villa are in pole position to land Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent on a season long loan ahead of Championship rivals Leeds United and Middlesbrough, according to a report from the Daily Star.
The 20-year-old winger featured for Liverpool during their pre-season tour and got a taste of life as a starting player for Liverpool.
However, the Reds are keen for Kent to gain more first-team action this season and are ready to send him out on a season long loan, with Aston Villa close to securing a deal.
The Birmingham Mail report that Villa face still competition from Leeds United, who are trying their best to convince the youngster to join them.
Kent received heaps of praise following Liverpool’s emphatic 3-0 win over German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the Audi Cup after his skilful dribbling left Bayern defender Rafinha dazed.
Kent signed a four and a half year deal with the Merseyside club at the end of the 2014/15 season and is one of the most promising young talents at the club.
Many fans have been intrigued to see what role Kent will play for Liverpool this season but it seems that a loan move is best for him to gain experience.
