Keeping track of Liverpool’s loan stars

Several of Liverpool’s outgoing loan stars enjoyed their first bits of action since departing the club temporarily over the weekend.

Harry Wilson played the full game for Derby on the right wing as the Rams beat Reading 2-1 away from home in their Championship opener. Jon Dadi Bodvarsson opened the scoring for the home side but goals from Mason Mount and Tom Lawrence in the 96th minute were the difference in the game.

Ben Woodburn, meanwhile, came off the bench for David McGoldrick in the 72nd minute as Sheffield United were beaten 2-1 at home by Swansea in the Championship. Former Red, Yan Dhanda scored the winner for the Swans as he came on in the 85th minute.

Herbie Kane was an unused substitute for Doncaster Rovers as they beat Southend 3-2 in League Two. Shamal George, too, was an unused substitute for Tranmere as they drew with Stevenage 2-2 away from home in League Two.

Over in Scotland, Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent came off the bench for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers in the Scottish Premiership as they drew 1-1 with Aberdeen. Ejaria came off for Ryan Jack in central midfield and Kent replaced Jamie Murphy at left wing.

Alfredo Morelos was sent off in the 12th minute but James Tavernier converted a penalty in the 30th, before Bruce Anderson equalised in the 93rd minute.

Adam Bogdan played the full 90 minutes in goal for Hibernian as well, as they beat Motherwell 3-0 at home. Stevie Mallan, Oli Shaw and Martin Boyle scored the goals for Hibs.
