According to Sky Sports and The Guardian’s Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have accepted a loan offer from Inter Milan for out-of-favour midfielder Lucas Leiva.

The Brazil international has not featured as much as he would have liked to this season for The Reds and there are better available options for Jurgen Klopp in both central midfield and in centre defence, where he has often deputised when called upon.

Judging by Romano’s information, it looks as though the deal is now in the Serie A outfit’s hands completely in regards to whether or not the deal does go through when the January transfer window opens in just over a week.
Lucas’ future at Anfield has come under increased scrutiny in recent times, so it should come as no surprise to see the experienced Brazilian with one foot out of the door.
Whether Liverpool will look to replace Lucas in the January transfer window is yet to be seen, but Klopp will look to have the void filled by the time the mid-season transfer opportunities pass by.
