Last night, Liverpool were being linked with a surprise move for Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez as Jurgen Klopp continues to assess his options to improve the squad this summer.
The Colombian, who can play on either wing or in a central attacking role, is set to leave Real Madrid this summer as manager Zinedine Zidane wants to go forward with other members of his squad and wishes to sell Rodriguez.
It was reported that Liverpool were unwilling to meet the €75m asking price for Rodriguez this summer, but that’s not to say that if that price-tag was lowered that the Reds would not make an offer.
Well, it seems as if Madrid will welcome bids in the region of €70m but Liverpool could miss out on the former Monaco star as Bayern Munich are ready to enter the race and make a bid in the coming hours for Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is said to be keen to reunite with his former Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, now of Bayern, while the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus and PSG have all been linked.
