Liverpool aren’t done yet in the summer transfer window and Jurgen Klopp is eyeing a move for one of his former stars.
Even with Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke through the doors, Klopp is considering a swoop for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, Lee Price tells the Daily Star.
Reus, along with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, are both wanted by Liverpool this summer if star attacker Philippe Coutinho leaves this summer:
Jurgen Klopp is likely to raid the Bundesliga for a replacement if Philippe Coutinho leaves Anfield.
The former Dortmund manager likes the club’s forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and the wantaway star is available – after a move to China broke down at the last minute earlier this summer.
Team-mate Marco Reus is another option, but BVB would be loath to let him go.
Liverpool stunned Bayern Munich in their Audi Cup clash last night courtesy of goals from Sadio Mane and new-boy Salah, the two players who would be competing for minutes with Reus if he came in.
After injuring his knee in the German Cup final at the end of last season, Reus remains sidelined until the New Year until he recovers which could be a stumbling block. The Germany international is valued at £70m.
Having seen his Premier League rivals load up on new attackers, you wouldn’t blame Klopp for diving back into the market for one, but a centre-back and midfielder are the club’s main areas to address right now.
