Liverpool are believed to be keeping tabs on highly-rated Gremio striker Luan, according to club scout Fernando Troiani.
Speaking with UOL Esporte (h/t Tribal Football) Troiani has revealed that Liverpool are interested in Luan but talk of an official offer being made back in the summer was wide of the mark.
“It is widely known that the press is reporting, without any support, that Liverpool are interested, and we’ve made a proposal (for Luan).” Troiani stated.
“We do not know where this invention was created. But I can assure you this is not true.
“We know that the board of Porto Alegre’s club has nothing to do with it, and we estimate that the athlete’s manager does not either.”
Regional publication Gremio ZH claimed last month that the Merseyside club were interested in the 23-year-old, in addition to Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester United.
Luan was part of the Brazil U23 side which won gold at the Olympics earlier this summer and is regarded along with the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Barbosa as one of the best young talents in Brazil.
It’s believed that it would cost interested parties at least £38.8m to sign Luan going forward.
