According to the Mirror, Liverpool want to move for Iker Casillas to keep Loris Karius on his toes as Simon Mignolet looks likely to leave.
Despite both Mignolet and Karius improving from the previous season, the Liverpool goalkeeping situation still has not been resolved, with both ‘keepers getting rotated very often.
However, Mignolet looks likely to leave The Reds this summer, which leaves room for them to snap up Spain legend Casillas from Porto, who Liverpool beat 5-0 over two legs in the previous round of the Champions League.

With Mignolet leaving, that could give Karius a clear path to the No. 1 spot at Liverpool, but if Casillas does come in then he’d have to fight for his place, which is great for the German, as he’d have to up his game yet again.
Even if Karius does start over Casillas, having a legend such as Casillas helping him could be the catalyst for Karius to become the great goalkeeper which everyone thought he’d become.
