Liverpool interested in young Trabzonspor star Abdulkamir Omur

Liverpool are expected fend off interest from Premier League champions Manchester City and sign promising Trabzonspor midfielder Abdulkamir Omur, according to The Mirror.

Omur, widely touted as the ‘best youth talent in Turkish football’, is valued at £27million and Jurgen Klopp is said to have kept an eye on his development since he broke into the Trabzonspor first team last season.

With Adam Lallana looking increasingly likely to depart Anfield in the next year, the Reds will be looking for a long-term replacement and the 19-year-old could be a perfect fit in Klopp’s plans.

It’s understood that the Trabzonspor would be looking to keep Omur until the summer, so whether Lallana moves on in January or at the end of the campaign could decide whether a deal will happen in the near future or not.

Lallana has been struggling with injuries since his £25million move from Southampton in 2014 and has been limited to just two Premier League starts this term due to a groin problem.

His former club and struggling Süper Lig side Fenerbahce are said to be interested in the 30-year-old, but it’s not clear whether Klopp wants to let him go on a permanent or temporary basis yet.
