According to Portuguese source A Bola, Liverpool are in Lisbon to negotiate the transfer of William Carvalho.
The report claims that the Reds has a delegation party in the Portuguese capital to negotiate the termination of Lazar Markovic’s loan move with Sporting prior to him joining Hull yesterday until the end of the season, but they’re now eager to hammer out a deal for Carvalho.
Liverpool aren’t the only Premier League team who have made a move for the 24-year-old this month as West Brom launched a €30m offer for the Euro 2016 winner, say the Birmingham Mail, but the offer was turned down as the Liga NOS club are holding out for someone to meet the player’s €45m release clause, according to Record.
Klopp already has Jordan Henderson and Emre Can who can play the ‘holding midfielder’ role in Liverpool’s midfield three, along with Marko Grujic who has a bright future ahead of him, making the club’s alleged interest in Carvalho unexpected.
