In recent years, Liverpool have definitely put an emphasis on bringing in talented younger players into the first-team squad and reports suggest Jurgen Klopp is eyeing up another move for a teenager.
According to Italian source Il Bianco Nero (h/t Sky Sports), Liverpool are set to send scouts into Europe to keep track of Francesco Cassata’s progress with Ascoli.
The 19-year-old came through the ranks at Serie A club Empoli before champions Juventus signed him in February 2015 in a £1.3m deal to initially join their Primavera side.
At the start of this season, a decision was made to send Cassata out on loan to Serie B side Ascoli for the 2016/17 campaign in a deal which does include a purchasing option, but Juventus have negotiated a buy-back clause should there come a time they want to bring him back to Turin.
Having scored once in 25 appearances this season for Ascoli, Cassata has caught the eye of a number of clubs including Liverpool who are believed to be weighing up a £8.5m bid for the player.
