Liverpool have joined Leicester City in the race to sign Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar in the January transfer window, according to the Metro.
Jurgen Klopp is eager to add to his attacking depth in January following injuries to Danny Ings and Philippe Coutinho, along with Sadio Mane’s inevitable departure to the African Cup of Nations in the new year.
While Celtic’s Moussa Dembele and Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic have been touted as possible arrivals, Fiorentina’s Khouma Babacar is the latest name to be added to the list.
The 25-year-old striker has featured 11 times in Serie A for Fiorentina so far this season, scoring six times which has caught the eye of both Liverpool and last year’s Premier League champions Leicester.
Despite being a compatriot of Mane’s, the uncapped Babacar is not expected to join the former Southampton winger at the African Cup of Nations in January.
