Liverpool have been dealt a huge transfer blow as Leicester City manager Claude Puel has revealed that Riyad Mahrez will not be allowed to leave the club this month, according to a report on the Daily Star.
The Merseyside club have been eyeing up potential replacements for Philippe Coutinho, who completed his dream move to Barcelona earlier in the month.

Mahrez has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield but Puel insists that his star player will not be leaving the Foxes yet.
He said:
It’s not a question in our mind. All the noise is just speculation. He has a fantastic influence on the team, a valuable player for the team.
We can see he is enjoying his football and is happy with his team-mates and with us. It’s important for us to keep our best players. The good ambition for him is to continue this hard work, to show his consistency game after game, until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old Algerian has been in fine form this season, managing to find the back of the net seven times in the Premier League whilst also registering seven assists.
Mahrez is being targeted by several Premier League clubs and Liverpool face competition from Arsenal for his signature. Leicester will try their best to hold on to the winger but if the right offer is made, then it could prove to be too difficult to turn down.
