Transfer request from Coutinho will not happen

According to the Mirror, Philippe Coutinho will not hand in a transfer request at Liverpool to try and force a move away to Barcelona.

Since Neymar’s move away from Barcelona to PSG, Philippe Coutinho has been the main name linked with a move to the Nou Camp as a replacement for his fellow Brazilian.

However, with recent quotes from manager Jurgen Klopp saying that the attacking midfielder will not be sold and this report saying that the player won’t hand in a transfer request, Barca’s hopes are getting slimmer and slimmer.

Liverpool have rejected two bids from Barcelona for Coutinho, with one of them being worth a huge £90m, which, if accepted, would see Liverpool make a £80m profit on the player who joined for £10m from Inter Milan.

Although Coutinho, like many other players, would like a move to Barcelona, it has been reported that he would only move amicably, showing respect to Liverpool and their fans.

If Coutinho does move, although it is looking unlikely right now, it could fund Liverpool’s move for Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk and RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita, who have both been heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer.
