Wigan 1-1 Liverpool – As It Happened

Liverpool’s second outing of the pre-season campaign ended honours even as Wigan Athletic held the Reds to a 1-1 draw at the DW Stadium.

It was not a classic, but Jurgen Klopp did see new signing Mohamed Salah score his first goal in a Liverpool shirt in what was a bright performance from the Egyptian.

This video features live reaction to the goals as they went in as well as the other major talking points from the game.

Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho and Simon Mignolet also returned to the fold on Friday night having reported back to training later than the majority of their teammates.

Coutinho, who captained Brazil in the summer, was heavily involved in Salah’s goal having won the ball back and slid it through to Roberto Firmino who put it on a plate for the £37m winger.

There was no sign of Coutinho’s compatriot, Lucas Leiva, who according to the BBC has been given permission to talk to Serie A side Lazio who have had a £5m bid accepted by the Reds.
