Liverpool travel to the North East to face Sunderland knowing that returning with anything less than three points would be a massive blow to their Champions League hopes.
A win would move Liverpool up into seventh position, level on points with Manchester United, and put them just four points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
The hosts currently sit in 19th, seven points off safety and have not won a game since November, so the opportunity is there for Jurgen Klopp’s men to climb the table.
Liverpool are dealing with a number of injuries going into the game, but there are still enough players fit for the starting XI to be debated.
