If, back in August, somebody has said this would be a clash between the first and seventh-placed sides in the Premier League, most would have thought that Liverpool must have had an amazing start to the year, whilst Leicester City have performed well above par too.
However, only one of those statements is true. Leicester have been fantastic and deservedly sit top of the league, whilst Liverpool’s inconsistent form has led to them being somewhat lucky to even be close to a top four finish.
After playing nine games in January, the Reds start another busy month with a difficult trip to the King Power Stadium to face Claudio Ranieri’s league leaders.
