Four Findings: Liverpool 4 – 0 Barcelona

What a way to warm up for Arsenal!

Liverpool ran out emphatic winners against Barcelona at the Wembley Stadium with four goals of stunning quality.

Sadio Mané got the opener with a great finish into the roof of the net thanks to an Adam Lallana assist, after the Englishman had started the move off.

Liverpool looked comfortable throughout the first half, bar one rather unbelievable miss by Lionel Messi, and saw it out 1-0.

Not long after the whistle blew for the second half, Liverpool scored two goals in quick succession due to a Javier Mascherano own goal and a delightful right-foot finish by Divock Origi, putting the Reds 3-0 up within three minutes of the restart.

The competition died out towards the end before Lazar Markovic lifted the ball towards Marko Grujic who ended the tie with an outstanding header that is easily the goal of pre-season.

Again it’s only pre-season and Barcelona had only played two games prior compared to our 7, but it’s hard to not get even a little excited about beating Barcelona 4-0 so close to the season!

With that in mind, here are my four findings from the match:
