Liverpool’s terrible recent run continues after an extremely disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Reds were knocked out of the EFL Cup in the week against Southampton, a loss that followed a home defeat to bottom-side Swansea City in the Premier League last weekend.
Those games made the FA Cup tie vitally important ahead of the Chelsea game on Tuesday, but it only got worse.
Liverpool went behind inside 53 seconds when Wolves defender Richard Stearman crept in at the back post and headed past Loris Karius. It was to get worse just a minute before half-time when Andreas Weimann slotted home after going round Karius to make it 0-2.
Liverpool improved second half but could not create anything of note until the 86th minute when Divock Origi poked home at the far post to set up a nervy last few minutes but Liverpool could not get an equaliser and suffer another home defeat.
After the game, I rated the players on their individual performances.
