Liverpool secured another vital win in the race for the top four as they stormed to an emphatic 3-1 victory over Everton in the Merseyside Derby at Anfield.
It took the Reds just eight minutes to open the scoring as Sadio Mane beat Everton ‘keeper Joel Robles with an inch-perfect strike.
Poor defending from set pieces once again threatened to derail the home side as Matthew Pennington turned in from Ashley Williams’ flick-on following a corner.
However, they were back in front minutes later as Philippe Coutinho sliced his way through the Blues’ defence before producing a superb curling finish.
Divock Origi then made sure of the points with a powerful third on the hour mark.
