Simon Mignolet’s penalty save secured a 3-2 victory for Liverpool against Leicester City in a thrilling contest at the King Power Stadium.

Philippe Coutinho ran the show in the first half, assisting Mohamed Salah’s headed opener before bending in a delightful free-kick.

The home side, though, struck back just before the break as Shinji Okazaki bundled home after an apparent foul on Mignolet.

Jordan Henderson’s cooly-taken third at the end of a clinical counter-attack appeared to make the points safe, but Jamie Vardy struck back instantly.

Leicester then threatened to snatch a point when Mignolet brought down Vardy, but the Englishman was denied from the spot.
