What Went Wrong? Hull City 2-0 Liverpool

Following a 2-0 defeat against Hull City on Humberside on Saturday afternoon, Liverpool’s turgid run since the turn of the year continued.

Liverpool have not tasted victory in the league since December 31st – when they narrowly overcame Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at Anfield thanks to a solitary Georginio Wijnaldum header.

The Hull game just about epitomises Liverpool’s season since that win on New Year’s Eve.

They’ve put in perfomances against the likes of Manchester United & Chelsea away and home, ones that haven’t yielded maximum points.

However, the Reds’ complacency against the ‘lesser’ teams has consistently come under-fire, and rightly so. Defeats at home to Swansea, Southampton & Wolves in the league and cup have gone a long way to ensuring that we won’t be seeing any silverware being added to the trophy cabinet this season at Anfield.

That fitful record continued on Saturday afternoon at the KOC Stadium, where Marco Silva’s much-changed Hull struck twice to dent Liverpool’s top four hopes too.

But where has Klopp got it wrong, again? What about the players? Here’s a look.
