Alexander-Arnold reaches salary increase

Liverpool youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold has triggered a salary increase in his contract after a fine season at right-back for the club, according to the Telegraph.

The 19-year-old signed a new five-year deal at the club in July  – the Reds clearly saw his potential when they offered him this deal.

A number of appearance clauses were added in the agreement and when he played in his 30th senior match, it improved this latest offer the youngster will get.

He’s had a number of fine performances this season, including a brilliant showing in the Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City, as well as a man of the match showing against Bournemouth as recent as last weekend.

In his early career, Alexander-Arnold played as a midfielder, but this term has proved that the right-back role is for him, being one of the key performers for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The player’s salary is set to rise to £40,000 per week.
