Alisson does not have a guaranteed starting spot for Brazil, according to Claudio Taffarel.
The Liverpool shot-stopper is currently Brazil’s first-choice between the sticks, but the national team’s goalkeeping coach Taffarel, who always works as Galatasaray’s goalkeeping coach, claims Manchester City’s Ederson is pushing him hard.

Much like the two club’s hard fought Premier League title chase this season, Ederson and Alisson are not far apart, with both goalkeepers deserving of a starting spot in their national side.
And according to Taffarel, Ederson is doing his best to pile pressure on Alisson’s spot as Number One. As reported by Sky Sports, Taffarel said:
They both play in the same league. Both teams (Liverpool and Manchester City) are at the same level.
Alisson has had a sequence as a starting goalkeeper for a long time with the national squad.
Maybe this could carry some weight but this is not a defined thing. I have seen a big growth of Ederson with the national squad.
Taffarel also admitted he would be keeping a keen eye on Alisson this Saturday, when Liverpool take on Tottenham in the Champions League final in Madrid. He said:
We will all be here watching and hoping that he has a good game, good saves, that he can help his team.
It will be a very interesting final, both teams deserved to be there.
Tottenham was a team that never gave up. I think the Champions League (final) will be a great event and we will be tuning in, and I will be very nervous for Alisson.
