When Barcelona signed Philippe Coutinho, they made an agreement that they will have to pay an extra €100m premium to Liverpool if they tried to sign another Reds player before 2020, according to a report from Paul Joyce of The Times.
Barcelona will have to pay a 100million Euros premium in addition to any transfer fee should they try and sign another Liverpool player before 2020.
The clause was negotiated by sporting director Michael Edwards as part of Philippe Coutinho’s £142million move. @TimesSport— paul joyce (@_pauljoyce) November 21, 2018
The Catalan giants signed Couthino for a massive £142m deal in January but Liverpool apparently insisted on an agreement that will all but prevent Barca from signing any more Reds players until 2020.

If the report from Joyce is correct, and there is absolutely no reason to think it wouldn’t be, then this agreement will pretty much scupper any chances of Barca looking to sign Roberto Firmino, a player they have shown an interest in.
It will also prevent the Spanish champions from making moves for Liverpool’s other attacking stars; Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool have no desire to sell any of their best players but this agreement should prevent any of them potentially having their heads turned, like Coutinho did, if Barcelona happened to show an interest in taking them to the Nou Camp.
