Liverpool have already made an impact in the transfer market this summer with the signing of Ibrahima Konaté.

It is reported that plenty more signings are on their way, with a number of names already mooted.

The likes of Patson Daka, Youri Tielemans, and Dušan Vlahović have all been linked with the club this week.

However, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has been keeping an eye on new boy Konaté.

The Sky Sports pundit spoke to the Liverpool Echo about Konaté, and was more than complimentary…

As cited by Anfield Watch above, the pundit described the Frenchman as ‘massive’.

It certainly sounds like a compliment, as a defender tends to have to be a big powerful presence at the back.

Carragher stated that he has seen snippets of Konaté’s game, in both the Champions League and for France.

Konaté started for France U21’s against the Netherlands the other day, which they lost 2-1.

It may have looked like a bad result for Konaté, but he provided a fine performance despite this.

So much so, that Carragher was clearly happy with what he saw – labelling him a huge presence.

It looks like Liverpool have got themselves a great player on their hand, and fans will no doubt be excited to see him in action.
