Jamie Carragher says there will be ‘a determination’ from Klopp and the squad after last seasons struggles

Last season was a real struggle for Liverpool, with a number of high-profile injuries.

The Reds were missing all three of their first-team centre-backs after Christmas last campaign.

This led to a number of youngsters stepping up and filling the mantle.

However, this summer has seen the return of the club’s top players heading into the new season with a full-strength squad.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes that this will be huge for the club, with a determination from Klopp and the players…

As cited by Anfield Watch above, Carragher says that last season’s troubles were a one-off.

The main reason for his confidence this season is the return of Virgil van Dijk after his injury.

The Dutchman found himself sidelined for some time after an ACL injury in October last year.

However, his recovery has been extremely successful and he has enjoyed a great pre-season prior to tomorrow.

There is no hiding that last season the club were far from their best but this campaign will be different.

With new additions such as Ibrahima Konaté, as well as a new and improved Harvey Elliott, fans can be optimistic.

The Reds kick off their season tomorrow with a trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City,
