Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said the injury suffered by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will leave them waiting like a wife for her man in prison, reports the Telegraph.
The midfielder was in a rich vein of form and expected to start for England at the World Cup, but he suffered knee ligament damage during the first leg of their Champions League semi-final and now will miss the rest of the season and the summer tournament.

Klopp was speaking about the injury ahead of Liverpool’s game with Stoke City tomorrow and said that it was unfortunate for the 24-year-old:
I cannot believe this wonderful player and person – in such a positive situation helping the team – has something like this happen. It is a shame. It is not fair, to be honest. This is how life is sometimes.
That injury, coupled with the ones to Adam Lallana and Emre Can, has left Liverpool with just three fit senior midfielders. Klopp said they will miss Chamberlain but vowed the player would come back stronger from this:
If you get a lemon get a lemonade from it. He will be back. We will wait for him like a good wife when a man is in prison.
