Liverpool youngster Liam Millar is a target for League One side Charlton Athletic, as confirmed by Addicks manager Lee Bowyer via London News Online.
Bowyer, who played 397 times in the Premier League during spells with Leeds United and Newcastle, told reporters of the London club’s interest in Millar, citing the player’s pace.
The 44-year-old said: “He is someone we have looked at, we have lost Alfie Doughty and he is still a little bit off yet. So we have lost that little bit of pace to break on teams.”
The Liverpool Echo recently revealed that the Canadian forward could be allowed to leave Anfield on loan in January and spoke of interest from a host of Championship clubs.
Millar has made 14 appearances for the Reds youth sides this season, scoring five times and supplying one assist (Transfermarkt). Having returned early from a loan spell with Kilmarnock last January, the Canadian has made just one first team outing for Liverpool, playing 82 minutes as a striker in last season’s FA Cup fourth round replay against Shrewsbury.

Already 21, Millar’s big break should probably have come by now under Jurgen Klopp, especially given the manager’s willingness to include youngsters who are deserving of their shot.
A loan move to get his name out there among the Football League ahead of the summer transfer window may be the best option for all parties as Liverpool surely look to cash in soon.
