Nathaniel Clyne has taken to social media to confirm he has undergone successful surgery following a knee injury.
The defender posted a message on his Instagram account, thanking supporters for their well wishes.
In an update after surgery, the defender said:
Minor setbacks, major comebacks! Thanks for all the kind messages, Op went well, now the real hard work starts! Road to recovery, will be back stronger!
Clyne was dealt a cruel blow when he was ruled out for six months after suffering a knee ligament injury during Liverpool’s pre-season preparations.
While he was always unlikely to feature at Anfield over the course of the coming season, the injury does cast serious doubts over a potential move away from the club anytime soon.

Crystal Palace had been heavily linked with the player as they look for a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Clyne was among the players expected to move on over the summer after falling out of favour. He spent the end of last season on loan at Bournemouth and impressed when he was given the chance in Eddie Howe’s side.
