Liverpool are looking to add Miralem Pjanic to their squad this summer, say the Mirror. Liverpool’s skipper Steven Gerrard will be heading to America in the summer and The Mirror state that Rodgers sees Pjanic as the ideal replacement for the club legend.
Brendan Rodgers flew out to Italy in the week to meet with Roma officials. The club found out the substantial price tag of £37m that Roma demand for the Bosnian midfielder.
When in Italy, Rodgers also declared his interest in a couple more Roma players; Adem Llajic and Radja Nainggolan. Despite the interest in these two – Pjanic is the priority for Liverpool this summer window.
However, Liverpool and Roma are miles apart in their valuation of the highly-rated central midfielder. Liverpool think he’s worth just £20m but the Italian’s believe their midfielder is worth £37m.
