Liverpool are slowly starting to click into gear under Andoni Iraola and have won their last five games across all competitions.
The Spaniard has made a massive impact at Anfield after taking over the reigns from Arne Slot, which hasn’t gone unnoticed among the Liverpool faithful.
The Reds made four new signings in the summer transfer window and it’s safe to say each of them has already made massive impacts at the club.
And Jamie Carragher has singled out Ronald Araujo and Jeremy Jacquet for special praise for the part they have played in shoring up the backline.
Jamie Carragher hails Liverpool duo
Carragher discussed Liverpool, Iraola and a bunch of other aspects in his recent column.
And while speaking about the new Reds boss and how he has improved the team defensively, he praised Jacquet and Araujo for how they have fared so far this season.
He wrote in his column for The Telegraph: “Iraola is a front-footed manager, but Liverpool’s recent success has been built upon a more robust back line, aided by the introduction of the exceptional young centre-back Jeremy Jacquet and emerging cult hero Ronald Araujo.
“We are yet to see a full 90-minute Liverpool performance where all the elements come together, but there is already more to admire than concern.
“Perhaps most encouraging of all is a togetherness in the team that was not there a year ago.”
Jacquet genuinely looks like the next big central defensive player in world football and has already broken into the French national team.
As for Araujo, he is having some kind of a second wind as a right-back and has endeared himself to the Anfield faithful with his work ethic, performances and passion.
