‘Overloaded’ – Jamie Carragher names three positions Liverpool need to address

It was a summer of change for Liverpool as Arne Slot and a handful of key players left the club.

Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson’s departures for free massively dented the club as they lost three really experienced pros for nothing.

However, the Reds drafted in four new players in Jeremy Jacquet, Ronald Araujo, Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola and it’s safe to say they’ve all fared quite well so far.

That said, Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool need at least three more signings to have a squad capable of competing on all fronts.

Andoni Iraola has made quite the impact at Anfield and is likely to be backed heavily in the upcoming transfer windows.

Carragher feels the Spaniard needs two full-backs and a right-winger as the Reds are currently lacking quality and numbers in those areas.

“Iraola needs two full-backs and a winger who is more comfortable on the right,” wrote Carragher in his column for The Telegraph. “He is overloaded with left wingers.”

We can see where Carragher is coming from.

Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley and Ronald Araujo as right-back options isn’t exactly ideal.

At left-back, Kostas Tsimikas is viewed as nothing more than a backup option, while Milos Kerkez continues to blow hot and cold at Anfield.

The right-wing spot in self explanatory as the Reds still need a left-footed player to replace Salah.

All in all, they still have a lot of work to do in the upcoming transfer windows, so Julian Ward has his work cut out for him.
