Liverpool have spent £26.7 million on fees for agents during the last 12 months, with Premier League clubs overall surpassing the £200 million mark for the first time.
Figures which were released by the Football Association on Tuesday showed that the Reds had spent the most on agent fees than any other club, topping reigning champions Chelsea and champions-in-waiting Manchester City.
Liverpool had spent roughly £39 million on winger Mohamed Salah last summer, who has had an incredible impact in his first season on Merseyside. This was followed by a record fee for a defender in Virgil van Dijk, who signed in January in a deal worth £75 million.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are also among those who have strengthened Jurgen Klopp’s side over the last 12 months, as agents have been benefitting from these fees and transfers involving the club.

Meanwhile, rivals Chelsea had an outlay of £25.1 million – closely followed by Manchester City who spent £23.4 million and local rivals Manchester United, who paid £18 million.
And remarkably, it was Watford who made up the top five for agent fees paid; the Hornets spent £13.3 million, which was more than heavy summer spenders Everton and Arsenal.

Therefore, the total Premier League spend amounted to £211,011,187; this was significantly higher than last season’s £174,227,243 spent on agent fees.
Newly-promoted Huddersfield Town were the club that spent the least, with a total of just £2.4 million. This was less than what Championship sides Reading, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Sunderland all paid respectively.
