Liverpool have been given a boost ahead of their Champions League final clash with Tottenham next month as Roberto Firmino steps up his recovery from an adductor injury.
The Brazilian missed the Reds’ remarkable Champions League comeback against Barcelona 11 days ago, as well as Liverpool’s final three league outings, but the striker could be fit to face Spurs on June 1st.

Firmino posted videos of his recovery on his official Instagram page, as Tweeted by Anfield HQ, where he is seen training with Liverpool’s strength and rehabilitation assistant David Rydings.

Firmino’s inclusion in the squad for the final now appears almost certain, with both Liverpool and Spurs allowed to name 12 substitutes on their bench, following UEFA’s rule change prior to the start of the season.
Managers are now allowed to name 12 subs on their bench in the UEFA Super Cup final, Champions League final and Europa League final, an increase from the seven permitted prior to the respective final’s.
