Hannover 96 interested in youngster Ben Woodburn

According to Inside Wales Sport, Bundesliga side Hannover 96 are interested in signing Liverpool and Wales youngster Ben Woodburn.

Woodburn is one of many talented youngsters coming through the Liverpool ranks with the Welshman highly thought of at Anfield.

He scored in Liverpool’s EFL Cup tie against Leeds during a 2-0 win at the end of November last year and he also impressed in pre-season, scoring in the recent 3-1 win against Athletic Bilbao.

After these great performances, German top flight side Hannover 96 have expressed an interested in the youngster, but the report does not suggest whether the move would be a loan or permanent deal, but the latter is unlikely.

In three seasons for Liverpool, Woodburn has only played 26 times, including games at youth level, scoring nine and assisting six times, so he is not getting much game-time for such a promising player.

Woodburn is expected to receive more game time at Anfield this season should he remain with the club, but the Welshman will still have to contend with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
